Expected Use:

This should appear in the footer of your site. You can have from 1 to 5 social icons represented. These should point your users to your social properties such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, WeChat, etc. These are configured by locale so you can have country/language specific properties shown. 

For social properties such as WeChat that only operate on mobile devices using their app, you can add a QR code to direct the user with their phone camera. See G011 - Footer Social QR Modal below for instructions on building this. 

Special Note - G010 Supersedes "social" Placeholder Function Variant:

In the original CoreMedia site design, the Social Footer Icons were created with a CoreMedia Placeholder with the Function Variant "social". While this is still a valid component in CoreMedia and still used on some sites, it should be considered deprecated and superseded by the G010. The old "social" variant is hard coded and controlled by a Settings Document located on the Homepage. Instructions for this version are no longer provided.

How to Build the G010 Collection:

The G010 is a Collection that contains external links to the appropriate social properties.

• Teaser Title - Not used in this component
• Teaser Text - Not used in this component
• Items - In the primary use case, you will add External Links to the Items List of the G010 Collection. If you need a QR code, you will buiild a Teaser
• Layout Variant - set to G010

Creating the External Links:

• URL - the URL that directs you to the social property such as your Facebook wall
• Pictures and Media - This is the social icon that is displayed. Note, if you need an icon for a social property that has not been previously set up we will need to have Digitas to create the icon.

• Teaser Title - Not used on this component

• Layout Variant - Set to G011

Creating the QR Code Picture:

• Picture - Add your QR Code. Check the box for "Use Original Image"
• Picture Title - Title to explain the QR Code such as "艾默生中国微信公众号" (i.e. "Emerson China WeChat public account"
• Caption - Message explaining what to do such as "请扫描二维码关注艾默生中国" (i.e. "Please scan the QR code to follow Emerson China"
