Expected Use:
The Full Width Video Player component presents a video that is relevant to some aspect of the page’s subject matter with a descriptive headline. The headline should describe the contents of the video. Upon selection, the video plays inside the component frame. BrightCove and YouTube videos are permissible. The use of Limelight and YouKu video formats have been deprecated as we no longer use Limelight or Youku as a service provider.
Building the Component:
Nothing is required in the C017 Collection other than the teasable Items (Video) you are using for this component and setting the Layout Variant to C017. The title, body copy and video all come from the teasable Item (your Video) on the Items List. Add a video content type to the "Items" section of your new C017 Collection.
For the Video:
The Video's headline "Teaser Title" and body copy "Teaser Text" serve as the caption for this component. Your Component should contain the following:
- Teaser Title - The main headline of the overlay text on your video. This is defaulted from the Video Title, but you can have an alternate title by overwriting the default in the Teaser Title.
- Teaser Text - The body copy description of the overlay text on your video. The C017 will display the Video Text if no Teaser Text is entered.
- Pictures and Other Media - This is the still image used on the C017 component.
- Video File URL - the format is specific to each service. Note an existing video in use from the chosen service to determine the video URL format required. Examples:
- Brightcove - //players.brightcove.net/2270581185001/default_default/index.html?videoId=3725378080001
- YouTube - //www.youtube.com/embed/mt0VdX0YJac?rel=0&enablejsapi=1&autoplay=1
- CTA Label and Teasable Content - No specific CTA or text needed to be set for this. The video CTA icon is displayed at the center of the image and serves as the CTA (visual indicator) that when clicked plays the video.
