Expected Use:

• On emerson.com this includes a smaller bar at the very bottom of the page which includes the copywrite, legal links and the social footer links (G010 - Footer Social Links Collection.) 
• On other approved sites this includes the G024 -Approved Sites Footer Corp Promise, the copywrite, and the Emerson helix logo.

How to Build the Footer Secondary Navigation:

Regardless of which site you are working on, you will create a Collection with the Layout Variant G009. This Collection is placed as the second item in the Footer Placement on the Homepage of your site. The G009 layout variant and some of the items you add which have their own layout variants will control the specific styling behavior for the overall G009 Footer Secondary Navigation. You will add Collections for emerson.com and you will add Teasers for other approved sites to the G009 Collection. No other fields are used in the G009 Collection.

While it is expected to use the footer as described below, it is up to platform governance to decide how to use the footer options available. You may choose to use parts of the footer that make sense for your business and you can choose to use parts from either the emerson.com version or the other approved sites version. You can further mix the two to create a more custom footer for your specific business needs. A couple examples are given for illustration:

• Spectrex.net does not use the featured links, but uses the emerson.com footer promo.
• cashvalve.com does not use the G008 component at all. They only use the G009 emerson.com version.

For emerson.com:

The footer secondary navigation on emerson.com is owned by Corporate Marketing. Please contact Corporate Marketing with any questions or needs regarding the footer secondary navigation. There are two Collections you will build to add to the G009 Items List.

• Create a Collection for the G010 - Footer Social Links. See instructions for building this Collection
• Create a Collection for the Legal Links. collection. Note this Collection has a Default Layout Variant as the styling is controlled by the G009.
  • Teaser Title and Teaser Text - Not Used
  • Items - Include pages for each of the legal information pages that need to be included. These can also be external links to pages or forms. The list is designed to wrap to an additional line when necessary to hold all of the links
  • Layout Variant - set to Default
• Note, the copywrite is included automatically and pulled from a bundle file. You can update the value of this variable when needed to show a new date or text in the copywrite area.

For other approved sites:

While the Items in the G009 - Footer Secondary Navigation will vary based on business requirements, the following will give a general expectation for the items included and are consistent across most sites. The contents are styled by the G009 layout variant and any layout variants of the components used inside of the G009. The main Items in the Items List for the G009 Collection are:

• Create a Teaser for the G024 - Approved Sites Footer Corp Promise. This footer promise differs from the default on emerson.com and only contains the main title "Emerson. Consider it Solved."
  • Teaser Target - Not set.
  • Teaser Title - This is the tagline (eg. "Emerson. Consider it Solved.")
  • Layout Variant - set to G024
• Create a Teaser for the G022 - Logo. 
  • Teaser Target - Set to emerson.com (or the appropriate locale of emerson.com)
  • Teaser Title - Not used
  • Picture - The Emerson Helix Logo
  • Layout Variant - set to G022
