Lunkenheimer products are used for severe applications such as isolation in heavy scale, tank blanking in viscous media, and isolation on the bottom of tanks or pipes where scale is present in the pipeline. They utilize a grinding action to ensure positive seating/shutoff and have the ability to handle heavy slurries, including saturated and viscous media which cause severe scaling in the pipeline.
